What Do You Think About Toddlers Being Labeled Bi-polar Or Adhd?

I can’t believe any doctor would prescribe drugs to babies…

I can’t believe any doctor would make a diagnosis at that early of an age. Toddlers are full of energy and are just discovering the world around them. Bi-polar they don’t even label until the child is like 16 at the very youngest. ADHD I don’t think would label until like 2nd or 3rd grade. At least that has been my experience.

Do You Think Television Is A “symptom” Of Children With Add Or Adhd?

ADD and ADHD are some of the most commonly diagnosed things in children today. Is it parental laziness? Not enough Discipline? Are school systems just tired of seeing children not paying attention or being “too active”? What are your thoughts on this?

I’ve read articles that a kid’s diet can display symtoms of ADD or ADHD. They did studies on school age children that have been diagnosed as such, and then tried experimenting with their diet by eliminating food flavoring, additives, sugary foods such as soda, and discovered that their symptoms dramatically improved in this group study. PLEASE read John Robbin’s book, The Food Revolution.
Television is a symptom of almost everything that is wrong in this world. In this household we do not watch TV anymore and have found that we have better communication, connect better emotionally and all in all your interpersonal skills increase dramactically. You will also find that you buy less “stuff” at the store.
In today’s society, kids are not disciplined or paid much attention too from overstressed, overworked parents, or from divorce etc. Everything in itself creates a problem.

What Do You Think About Attention Deficit Disorder/attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder?

I am working on a presentation about ADD/ADHD and I need some personal feedback. What do YOU think about this ADD/ADHD phenomenon? Do you think it’s over-diagnosed? Do you think it even exists? Are you diagnosed with it? Can you tell me about some of your struggle?
Any opinion about Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I am 14 years old and I have ADD.
My elementary years were terrible…i wasn’t a behavior problem (most girls aren’t) but I couldn’t keep my mind on one thing. I fidget all the time… I multi-task and I have a very short attention span. I was diagnosed with ADD last year and at first I was upset. Why LABEL me with this disorder? I found out more about it and it’s actually a breath of fresh air to know that that was the reason I couldn’t keep many friends (communication problems) and that’s why I always felt different.
My older sister has it too…diagnosed when she was 18. She’s 27 now. She says that when she makes love, its hard for her to enjoy it because she has so many racing thoughts and that creates relationship problems.

I Think I Have Adult Adhd And Would Like To Tested?

I have done my research as well as several online evaluations for Adult ADHD. Every “test” I have taken suggests a proffessional evaluates me. I have a fairly high IQ and consider myself a pretty smart guy. The problem is that I have never been able to concentrate, and it seem that there are 100 thoughts bouncing around in my head at all times. I gave up reading b/c my mind wanders so much that I read the paragraphs 3 or 4 times before I can move on. It affected my college and High school years and defiantly my career. I have read up on ADHD and have discovered that almost every “symptom” discussed is a symptom that I have. However, I cannot seem to find where to start. I live in Ocala FL and would like some help with this. Thanks

I studied a lot about ADD/ADHD (same thing) in college and by what your saying I do believe you have it. But of course make sure you see a trained specialist and not diagnosis yourself. Most people with ADD are very smart people, they just don’t know how to apply there knowledge when they need too. Nothing wrong with that because your probably really creative and have a lot of great ideas, A great trait to have. ADD has nothing to do with how smart you are so don’t let that bother you.
You’ll just get medication to help you focus which most ADD people see the first day they take it (I did!). It will really help you in life trust me.
Most people describe it by putting on glasses on for the first time and that is true.
Good luck!
