Hyperactivity and ADHD go together like a hand in glove. In this article, you’ll learn why hyperactivity creates more problems than just inappropriate behavior and a safe, natural means of treating and resolving it, so your child can do well at home and in school and enjoy a happy, normal childhood.
ADHD, Hyperactivity and the Developing Brain
Neuroscientists tell us that “what fires together wires together.” What this means that the more we engage in a certain behavior, the more that behavior will continue in the future. So being hyperactive creates neural networks in the brain that furthers this behavior. The problem with this is that hyperactivity stresses the brain which compromises the ability to concentrate and stay on task and also can adversely affect development and the immune system. This is why it is crucial to treat ADHD hyperactivity, so the brain can start to heal itself and build neural connections from experiences of what it feels like to be calm and focused.
Although drugs can treat hyperactivity and ADHD, they do so at a cost. All drugs have side effects and some of them can be quite disturbing. For instance, common side effects of ADHD drugs include loss of appetite and insomnia. If your child is not eating and sleeping enough, this will stunt his development and can worsen his symptoms, making it even more difficult to do well at home and in school. When thinking about giving your child prescription medications, consider the long term effects of a developing brain.
This is why countless parents are turning to natural remedies to treat their children. Unlike drugs, natural remedies have no side effects. They also will not interact with any other medications that your child might need to take.
High quality natural formulations with ingredients like Hyoscyamus and Verta Alb have been proven to be effective in clinical trials at treating hyperactivity and ADHD and are FDA-approved. Best of all, natural remedies do more than just suppress the symptomsâwhile they are working to calm and soothe the nervous system and increase focus, they heal the brain and restore proper function.
In summary, refuse to let ADHD hyperactivity become a lifelong problem for your child. Prevent hyperactivity from becoming habituated in the brain by giving your child a natural remedy that will calm and heal the nervous system, allowing your child to get back on track at home and in school and enjoy a happy childhood.

“Affiliate Marketing “is a term that is gaining a lot of prominence today and it rightly deserves its reputation of being one of the most profitable and lucrative online business. For those who wonder on what affiliate marketing is and how it is generally conducted, the following information can be of extreme help. Affiliate marketing means the revenue sharing between online advertisers and merchants on a performance basis that comes in the form of a hybrid model, sales, clicks or registrations. Affiliate marketing is also popularly known as associate marketing and is a lucrative home based venture that one can easily enter into with ease.
In simple terms the definition of affiliate marketing is a net based venture where a company rewards one or more affiliate for bringing in customers. This application is technically called “crowd sourcing” and this is the result of the affiliate’s marketing efforts. There are four core players in the affiliate marketing venture. The Brand or the Retailer is called the Merchant, the Network, the affiliate also called the Publisher, and the Customer. Affiliate marketing is similar to the other internet marketing options to some extent. They use the same marketing tools and they also include search engine marketing, display advertising, email advertising and sometimes paid search engine marketing. Affiliate marketing also uses a single website that drives traffic to another website. This online marketing can also be done with websites or blogging. One can also post the link of the affiliate on a personal blog and earn commissions when there are registrations.
This form of marketing is practically a performance oriented venture. The more one performs the more one can earn. This venture requires a lot of efforts and hence, the person must ensure that he puts in the right amount of efforts to earn a decent income. The affiliates are not under the direct payroll of the company but there can earn as much as those who are employed in the sales department of the company. The best part of the affiliate marketing program is that the merchant does not have to incur any marketing expenses till sales results are obtained. There are many businesses that attribute their success to this form of online marketing. In fact, those people who are anticipating entering into independent home enterprises, affiliate marketing is inevitably a good choice. This marketing can be stated by beginners with ease. There are many online guides that can help a person venture into affiliate marketing and earn consistent revenue. This venture is very successful if exercised in the right manner. In fact it has gained so much popularity over the couple of years that more and more people are joining the bandwagon.
Thus, the definition of “affiliate marketing “covers all the above salient features. This form of online marketing does not require a person to be very technically savvy. It is advised to join an affiliate on which one has subject expertise as that can help one add personal touches and kick off the business with success.
Lately, it seems like “diabetes” is in the news quite often. The definition of the word “diabetes,” according to Webster’s New World Dictionary, is a disease caused by an insulin deficiency and characterized by excess sugar in the blood and urine.
According to the International Diabetes Federation, more than 230 million people worldwide have diabetes. To me, this is not a statistic! The number 230 million are children and adults. These are all special people who deserve to live a happy and healthy life! They are family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even your pets. Yes, dogs and cats are getting diabetes. Diabetes is a deadly disease and the main goal is to kill victims. Sometimes, it kills them quickly and other times it’s a slow process from the complications. Diabetes doesn’t care who you are, the objective is to destroy lives.
Why then do we focus on a “deadly disease,” worse yet, the “diabetic label?” What is the “diabetic label?” It’s the label the medical profession, media and society as a whole are using. In fact, many family members and friends use it and don’t even realize it. When you call someone a “diabetic” you are calling them a deadly disease. They are a special person and deserve to be called by their name. The name they choose, not a disease you label them with. When you use the word “diabetic” you are not only being disrespectful to that individual, but you are causing emotional damage. Damage you don’t even see. This damage starts to affect the individual not only mentally but physically as well. I have witnessed it for over 25 years now.
I buried the “diabetic label” in 1979 and refuse to ever use it! Recently, I was at my book signing, when a lady came over to me and said, “My doctor called me a ‘sick diabetic’ and I’m so devastated, can you please help me?” She was in tears! I was angry at her doctor. Why did he/she have to label her? This is the emotional/mental abuse that has been going on for a long time. It’s just no one wants to talk about it. Well, I’m not talking about it either. I’m screaming at the top of my lungs about it. The “diabetic label” needs to be banned! Don’t ever use it around me, or you will be sorry! I’m here representing every single child and adult who has ever had to deal with the “diabetic label.” I care about you and I know what it feels like to be labeled a “diabetic.” If you are reading this and have diabetes or any other health challenge (that you have been labeled with) you totally understand. I’m here to protect you and all of my clients from this abuse. Enough is enough! Need I say more?
I just finished reading a New York Times article titled, “Looking Past Blood Sugar to Survive With Diabetes,” dated August 20, 2007 (available at http://www.nytimes.com archives by searching by title; registration is required). The article was written by Gina Kolata. This article states, “Mr. Smith has Type 2 diabetes and has become fixated on his blood sugar. He tried to control his diabetes but last year he had a life-threatening heart attack.” Diabetes cannot be controlled, beat or managed. Just try chasing after it and soon you will become not only mentally exhausted but physically too. “Mr. Smith was unaware that diabetes can affect the heart,” the article added.
The article continues, “Most people who have diabetes are treated by primary doctors who had just a few hours of instruction on diabetes, while they were in medical school. Then the doctors typically spend just 10 minutes with diabetes patients, far too little for such a complex disease, specialists say.” I totally agree!
Dr. Michael Brownlee, director of the JDRF International Center for Diabetes Complications Research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York states, “It makes me ask, what is going on? I can only conclude that people are not aware of their risks and what could be done about them.” My response to Dr. Michael Brownlee: we need to stop focusing on the diseases and what we don’t want. Instead, bury diabetes and start living a healthy lifestyle! Wanna bury diabetes … who ya gonna call? Julie, that’s me – the diabetes buster!

Caring for one’s teeth is an important thing. A person’s dental hygiene is reflective of the way he takes care of himself. A person with poor dental hygiene is bound to be the subject of small group casual talks one time or another. He would probably have lower self-confidence especially if he can’t smile or talk straight because of his mouth’s smell.
Sparkling white teeth, coupled with mint-fresh breath are two of the most impressive features one can have. But how does one properly care for his pearly whites? Here are some useful tips:
Brushing
One of the basics of dental care is tooth brushing. We have been taught how to brush our teeth when we were kids but some times, we just forget to brush our teeth or forget how to brush them properly. Use a recommended toothbrush with the right texture and hardness. If the gums are sensitive, opt for the “soft” tooth brush.
- Make sure that your toothpaste is approved by the ADA or the American Dental Association. Yes, cheap products are very tempting to buy but they can take the smile out of one’s face in the long run.
- When brushing, make sure to brush the teeth thoroughly. Make sure to brush the gums so as to prevent gum disease from developing.
- Buy a toothbrush with a tongue cleaner. Most of the germs in the mouth are in the tongue and it’s good to brush the tongue to get rid of the germs which cause bad breath.
Flossing
Flossing is a relatively less popular way of caring for the teeth than tooth brushing. However, flossing can get rid of the dirt, plaque and food particles in the sections of the mouth that can’t be reached by the tooth brush. One should floss at least once a day.
- Make sure you floss once a day
- The right length of floss important. The floss should be around 13-18 inches long so that one can freely move it back and forth between the teeth.
- Repetition is very important. Flossing requires at least eight strokes to be able to effectively dislodge all the food particles and plaque from the teeth.
Eating right
Eating right is a preventive measure to keep the teeth pearly white. Again, people take the fact that eating sugary foods is detrimental to the teeth. Children can eat them as much as they want if they still have their milk teeth, but for adults, once the permanent teeth are damaged, there’s no going back.
- Eating the right food can help prevent tooth damage
- Stay away from sugar-rich foods such as candies and chocolates
- Limit the intake of snacks so as to limit the acid attacks on the teeth
- Look for sugar-free goodies in groceries and munch on them and stay away from the sugary ones
Others
Going to the dentist at least once a year is recommended. Experts know best and there are things that we can’t see with our bare eyes. The dentist can help one maintain one’s dental hygiene.
Avoid other things that can cause tooth discoloration and decay such as smoking. Perennial smokers are bound to develop tooth discoloration and bad breath.
Dental hygiene is very important not only because it is a measure of how other people thinks about us, but because it makes us feel better about ourselves and boost our self-confidence. We only have one set of permanent teeth, take care of it.

Discussion of skin cancer is usually divided by far the most dangerous form. The non-melanoma skin cancers include basal cell cancers and squamous cell cancers.
The non-melanoma skin cancer treatment has a high success rate, the skin cancer is detected at an early stage. Australians should regularly check their skin for new growths, any changes in the color, shape or size of existing skin spots. Doctor can also check for skin cancers. History of skin cancer, you should have regular medical checks of the previously treated areas and other areas are susceptible to new cancers.
Diagnosis of skin cancer
Doctor will look at the suspect skin spot and have a skin cancer; doctor will suggest a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. Biopsy is a quick and relatively simple procedure carried out with a local anesthetic. The surrounding tissue of spot will be removed so it can be tested at a laboratory. Often the whole cancer is removed at this stage, and you may not require further treatment.
You may also need additional tests, such as x-rays, scans and a lymph node biopsy, to show if there has been any spread of the cancer to other parts of the body.
Skin cancer treatment
When doctor planning the treatment, take a number of factors into account.
* the type and size of the cancer;
* where it is situated; and
* whether it has spread to other parts of the body.
When your doctor knows to what stage the cancer has progressed, they can make a decision on the type of treatment required. The treatment often includes some type of surgical procedure or radiation therapy.
Types of non-melanoma skin cancer treatment are surgery and mohs surgery.
Surgery
The whole skin cancer is removed only treatment necessary when obtaining a biopsy. However, if the skin cancer is large or spreading, a larger amount of skin may need to be removed and a skin graft may be needed to cover the area.
Mohs’ surgery
In mohs’ surgery, specialised form of skin cancer surgery and micrographic surgery can be used to remove large, deep or recurring cancers. It is also used for cancers in areas that are difficult to treat surgically. The mohs surgery process involves methodically removing the visible skin cancer and a thin layer of tissue, staining and cutting the removed tissue into sections and marking on a diagram (mohs’ map), then preparing and examining the removed tissue under the microscope to check that the deep roots of the cancer have been removed and process is going on till the entire skin cancer has been removed.
Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy technique uses extreme cold to treat pre-cancerous skin conditions. Liquid nitrogen is applied to the tumour to freeze and kill abnormal cells. A small white scar may remain over the treated area.
Curettage and cauterisation
Curettage and cauterisation (diathermy) surgery, the doctor will numb the area with local anaesthetic using a small, sharp, spoon-shaped instrument called a curette, scoop out the diseased area. The doctor will use a diathermy instrument to run an electric current into the area to control bleeding and destroy any remaining cancer cells and technique often leaves a flat, light-coloured scar.
Radiotherapy or radiation therapy
Radiotherapy technique is generally used for hard cancers to treat with surgery on the eyelids or nose. Over several weeks, the treatment uses high-energy x-rays to destroy complete cancer cells. Radiation therapy treatment can make the area red and sore, and can produce changes in skin colour and/or texture in the long term.
Chemotherapy
In this technique, a drug is applied directly to a pre-cancerous lesion or sunspot in the form of a cream, for example, efudix cream is applied twice every day for several weeks, with the area becoming red, followed by blistering, peeling or cracking.
Immunomodifiers
Imiquimod is a cream that can be used as a treatment for some skin cancers and pre-cancerous lesions. It stimulates the immune system to recognise and destroy cancer cells.
Photodynamic laser therapy
Photodynamic laser therapy is the combined use of laser light and drugs to make the cancer cells sensitive to light so destroyed by follow-up laser treatment. Treatment is suitable for pre-cancerous lesions and some superficial skin cancers.

It is good to know all about male pattern baldness, as this can help allay any fears and help you to locate the best treatment too. With over 50 million men in the US experiencing hair loss, you’re not alone, so here are the commonest causes and the best solutions.
Many factors can lead to hair loss including genetics, lifestyle choices, poor diet and hormonal reasons. The most common cause of male pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia is an excess of the hormone DHT.
For men, the hair is lost in a well-defined pattern, beginning above both the temples. Hair also thins at the crown of the head and the condition may progress to complete baldness if treatments for hair loss are not employed.
The DHT gradually suffocates the hair follicles over time, thinning out the hair slowly until it falls out completely and this process will also stop any future growth without the proper treatment.
We tend to hear all about male pattern baldness a lot more now in the press as it’s on the increase and more and more men are seeking out treatments. It has now grown to a $billion market and the majority of products are ineffective and even harmful.
Always look for proven ingredients like Minoxidil and natural nutrients to give you a healthy and sustainable way of keeping your hair into the future.
Minoxidil is an FDA approved ingredient proven to work effectively and allow healthy new growth to occur. It works by blocking the DHT and prolonging the growth phase of hair providing more time for hair to grow out to its full density, returning your lost volume.
Herb extracts including Saw Palmetto and Nettle Root also help to fight the DHT and increase circulation to your scalp. Saw Palmetto was originally used to treat prostate disease and so gives men a double whammy of new hair growth and improved prostate health.
Add vitamin B6, magnesium, biotin and zinc and you have the best foundation to build and maintain strong and healthy hair.
Now you know all about male pattern baldness, you can confidently select the best ingredients and look forward to seeing new and natural hair growth month after month.

I am working on a presentation about ADD/ADHD and I need some personal feedback. What do YOU think about this ADD/ADHD phenomenon? Do you think it’s over-diagnosed? Do you think it even exists? Are you diagnosed with it? Can you tell me about some of your struggle?
Any opinion about Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
I have a chronic attention deficit problem. I cannot concentrate for more than a few seconds. I cannot remember what I did a few hours ago. Today I day dreamed through my train station and ended up further than I intended to go. If I drive somewhere I cannot remember how I got there. I forget everything. I walk out of meetings and I cannot remember what was said. It’s beginning to seriously impede my career. Is there anything that can be done about this?
